I just recently had a dream with a pretty big jumping spider and last night I had a new one so I thought it's time to see what it means. In last night's dream, I so a big spider (about the size of a ping pong ball) catching a smaller spider. I was curious about it so I came close to watch and saw how the bigger spider started covering the smaller one with it's web. I was pretty impressed so I went for my camera to take a video of it. When I came closer, the flash went off and after it, I saw that the spider had stopped moving, as if I scared it with he bright light. This time, curiosity killed the spider :)
So, what would this dream mean? I've seen interpreations of spider dreams but not anyone with a spider catching a smaller spider.

Thanks for sharing.

According to some informal research, spiders can be:

Fate: Weaving a web of the past and the future.

A Teacher: Powerful persona

Crafty: Someone who plays tricks on you

Destructive: A person that creates havoc in your life.

Perseverence: One who continues despite setbacks.

The web can often mean entanglement or even your connection to the world.

We often ses ourselves in third person in our dreams. Is it possible one of the spiders represented you?

How did you feel when the spider died?

Boker Tov!

I am fascinated to hear you live in Israel. I lived 15 miles west of Jerusalem for several months.

Another thought on the dream, you may feel like an outsider observing power struggles around you. Perhaps you have more power than you realize (as suggested by your involvement so affecting the spider).

I keep dreaming that my teeth are falling out! It's so real that I feel the soreness and pain in my sleep. I've had this dream since I found out I was pregnant. I sure am glad to wake up with a mouth full of teeth!

Actually, that second thing you said, about feeling like an outsider to a struggle does seem to be the case. I've been in the middle of a struggle between work and the army for a while now. I guess it's time to pick up my camera, take a look at the situation and decide how to act. We'll see what tonight's dream is about! :)

Hannah, I've actually had your dream too several times. Apparently, the meaning depends on which teeth are falling off but in your case, I'd say your teeth represent your ability to eat and "bring food to the table" or "to the pack". You might be worried about being able to take care of the baby. I'm sure you'll do fine! Lot's of parents do it everyday :)

Woa, I had this dream that I was at a care home for kids and old people and there were giant mushroom shaped sprinklers! Why would old people and kids be at the same place? and why were there giant mario mushrooms everywhere! LOL!

Jonathan,

Israel is an amazing place but in the short time I was there I definitely felt like an outsider. I remember the first time I had a conversation in Hebrew; it was amazing! Middle Eastern culture is quite different than western culture. It could be argued that they are more genuine but we are more friendly (my friend Yael told me that Americans are sometimes viewed as superficial). In skimming your blog, I am guessing that you are either from or have visited family in Mexico. In my experience, Mexicans are even more warm and friendly than Americans (and therefore in greater contrast to the stoicism of Middle Easterners). Good luck!

Hannah,

I have also had the same dream many times. While I was researching falling dreams, I discovered that dreaming about losing teeth is quite common. In retrospect, there have been two periods in my life when those particular dreams were frequent. They were: high school and while I was pregnant with my daughter.

Jonathan had an excellent thought on the meaning of the dreams, no doubt the concerns of providing and succeeding were a big part of both of those periods in my life. I also read an interpretation suggesting that losing teeth could indicate concern over appearance. Apparently these dreams are fairly common for people concerned about fitting in and those going through changes and aging. This interpretation also fit both of my situations. In high school most girls are so concerned about fitting in and being attractive. With pregnancy, you see your belly growing and wonder if you will ever regain your figure. Hopefully that was helpful and good luck with your little one.

Anonymous,

You experienced a very fascinating dream. I wonder if you are dealing with concerns of taking care of someone (be they old or young) and you are concerned you might fail (hence the care home). Or perhaps it is the reverse, you are concerned that there is no one to care for you. Dream Moods suggest that mushrooms represent amassing wealth or pleasure at a dangerous pace. Sprinklers could represent cleansing, clarification, or enlightenment. See if it fits.
